The culinary history of La Maison Arabe dates back to 1946 when two exceptional French women, Hélène Sébillon Larochette and her daughter Suzy, were granted by the Pasha of Marrakech Thamy el Glaoui the right to open the first restaurant open to foreigners in the Medina. To do this, he entrusted them with one of his best cooks, a dada, who soon shared the secrets of Moroccan gastronomy. From then on, the reputation of the establishment exceeded the walls of the medina and La Maison Arabe quickly became one of the best restaurants on the African continent.
